I am working on a project for my Enco Mill Drill Lathe - it's a Power Feed driven by a Parallax Propeller and EasyDriver - part of the project involves making some Timing Pulleys to hook it all up! So this post is about the Timing Pulleys! Check out some pictures and videos!

So it's nearing the end of April and I haven't updated in a while :) That's how things go when my lazy ass is sitting on the couch ;) LOL Just kidding...
I've been working on my aluminum tilting furnace and I think I've finally gotten to where I can share what I've done! So check out that article for pictures and a long description...
I've also made an anniversary present for my wife - mostly on the CNC, but I did have to assemble and sand the pieces. I got (stole?) the idea for the "You've Captured My Heart" piece from the Vectric website - they have a free monthly project that they give away.

Sorry but some of the videos are down at the moment - my Google (and YouTube) account got hacked and deleted! So I am currently scrambling to get them restored, or worst case I'll have to re-upload them. Thanks for your patience and if anyone wants a specific video I can work on that one first
Solidworks

I've been searching for a good 3D CAD tool for a while now and finally got around to trying out Solidworks and I just wanted to post and say that Solidworks is by far the best and easiest 3D tool I've used ever (besides Sketchup) Sketchup still rocks for large items - but Sketchup's max resolution is like .01" or something like that which just won't work for some of these small metal parts.
Threading and Yard Work

Yeah I know those two things don't go together - but they do in my case!
I had a few leaks after not running my sprinkler system for a while - one of the leaks was at the pump, where the metal housing has a threaded hole where the PVC pipe connects... I made several trips to the hardware store trying to find the right sized adapter for that hole! It was smaller than 1" and much bigger than 3/4" and I could not find anything to fit!
New Blog Format

I think I'm going to try out a new blog format! I was going to use blogger, or some other site but then thought that *most* of my stuff will be relating to the workshop and I should just post the stuff here!
So I created a new category and will post "blog" items on this front page - I moved the welcome message to the About Me page - probably no one really read that anyway :)
So here it is - my frst blog post! Projects will be listed above as usual and still under the "Projects" menu - and all my rambling will go here!
